Two Southeast Arkansas residents were killed in the early morning hours Monday in a one-vehicle traffic accident in Bradley County.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Jody L. Ream, 48, and Erin K. Minks, 29, both of Hampton, died when a 2000 Mercury driven by Ream failed to negotiate a right-hand curve on Arkansas Highway 275 near Banks at about 1 a.m.
The vehicle traveled across the center of the roadway, through the opposite lane of traffic, then left the roadway and entered the northbound ditch where it struck a tree before coming to rest against the tree.
The deaths were the 246th and 247th recorded so far this year on the state’s highways in 225 separate accidents.
