Two inmates from Cummins Prison passed away overnight at Jefferson Regional Hospital. The deaths were confirmed to DeltaplexNews.com by Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley.
The particulars of the inmates are as follows:
- African American male in his 60’s.
- White male in his 60’s.
The two deaths are the first inmate deaths in the state of Arkansas.
As of Friday 860 inmates have are confirmed to be positive with the Coronavirus. 51 security staff members and 13 non-security staff members have also been confirmed positive.
