The investigation of the fourth homicide of this year, which occurred Tuesday night, is still in the early stages. Police spokesman Richard Wegner’s news release stated that officers were sent to the 3700 block of Camden Road at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night in response to multiple gunshots being fired. When they arrived, they found a red passenger car just east of that location.

Amanda Lee, 22, and David Smith, 26, were the passengers of the car. Both individuals had gunshot wounds upon the police’s arrival. They were both taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where Lee was pronounced dead. Lee’s body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for an autopsy.

The shooting occurred as the car sat in the driveway between 3610 and 3700 Camden Road. Afterward, the car rolled down the street before coming to rest, where it was located by officers. The suspect fled the area after the shooting and remains at large.
