Tragedy Again Strikes Pine Bluff as Late-Night Shooting Claims Young Life

Tuesday morning just before 1:00 AM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to a reported shooting in apartment #52 of the Camelot Apartments at 4001 Old Warren Rd. When officers arrived, they found the door damaged and open. The officers entered the apartment where they located 25-year-old D’Arrion Johnson in the bedroom. Johnson had suffered apparent gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Johnson will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy to establish the official cause and manner of death. Witnesses reported that a person or persons forced entry into the apartment and shot Mr. Johnson. Two people wearing masks were seen in the area of the apartment around the time of the shooting. The motive for this homicide is unknown at this time. This homicide is still in the early stages of the investigation at the time of this release, and the circumstances leading to this murder are still under investigation.
