The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of an investigation of an incident that left a Pine Bluff woman Dead.  At about 3:30 a.m. on September 7th, officers were called to the area of 16th and Cherry in reference to a property damage accident.  Once they arrived they located a single vehicle that appeared to have collided with a tree.  There was one female victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.  The identity of that individual is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

 

33-year-old Jeremy Scott Sr. later surrendered to police in connection with the vehicle collision.  He made statements to the police that eventually led to him being arrested for 2nd Degree Murder.  This incident is still under investigation and as information is developed the 2nd Degree Murder charge may be amended.  However, at this time it is being investigated as a homicide.
