In what won’t even make the top 10 craziest things that have happened in 2020, Tommy Lee and Ted Nugent are now feuding.

The war of words began when Nugent, an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, branded the Mötley Crüe drummer, an outspoken Trump critic, a “convicted felon, domestic violence heroin addict.”

Nugent made his remarks during an appearance on the right-wing podcast Blunt Force Truth while speaking about a recent taping he did on Sammy Hagar‘s Rock and Roll Road Trip show on AXS TV. As Nugent tells it, the show’s producers were “afraid” of the “Cat Scratch Fever” rocker due to his vocal enthusiasm for firearms.

“They thought I was dangerous, that I’d come out with a machine gun or I’d slaughter an innocent fawn on television,” Nugent said.

He continued, “I said, ‘So, your producers were afraid of me, but they did a show with Tommy Lee, who’s a convicted felon, domestic violence heroin addict!’ They’re OK with this guy, but not with the Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids charity, teaching kids to be clean and sober?”

Lee served six months in jail in 1998 for battering his then-wife, Pamela Anderson.

Lee, who was trending on Twitter Wednesday after declaring in an interview that he’d leave the U.S. and return to his birthplace of Greece if Trump was reelected, returned fire at Nugent last night.

“Ted Nugent? ….Is that guy even still alive?,” Lee tweeted. “I thought he shot himself like 20 yrs ago.” The drummer also added a few middle finger and crying-while-laughing emojis for good measure.

Stay tuned — or, perhaps, for your own sanity, don’t — to see if Nugent responds.
