Over the last 10 years, the Pine Bluff Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) has seen, according to the latest census figures, a 14.37 percent drop in population, going from 77,456 in 2010 to 67,260.

Allison Thompson, the President, and CEO of the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County talked about the decline when she appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Wednesday.

Thompson said some of that loss could be attributed to industrial plants closing and transferring the work overseas.
