The U.K.’s Download Festival has been canceled for 2021.

The event, the hard-rock counterpart to England’s Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals, had been scheduled to take place this June. The Download Festival, which is held at Donington Park in Derby, England, was also scrapped in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We never gave up hope of bringing the festival back to Donington this June and had been working so hard behind the scenes to make that happen, but sadly, we now know it’s not possible,” Download organizers say in a statement. “We’re heartbroken for everyone in the Download family, from artists to suppliers and of course our passionate Download fans.”

Download 2022 has been scheduled for June 10-12. KISS and Iron Maiden are among the artists who will headline the fest, along with Scottish alternative-rock band Biffy Clyro; the full lineup will be announced at a later date. KISS and Biffy Clyro also had been confirmed to play the 2021 event.

Glastonbury, which was also scheduled for this coming June, has been canceled, as well. Meanwhile, organizers for Reading & Leeds announced last week that they are confirmed to take place this August.
