Texas man accused of second-degree battery after altercation with nurse

A $10,000 secured set for Largo Vista, TX man accused of forcibly grabbing a nurse at Jefferson Regional Hospital on October 24th.

Jefferson County District Judge John Kearney set the bond after finding probable cause to charge Conner Whitaker 23, with second-degree battery.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said that close to midnight officers were dispatched to Jefferson Regional in response to a disturbance.

Carson added that Whitaker has previous misdemeanor charges out of Texas.

Whitaker was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to return to court on December 8th. He said he would hire his own attorney.
