Jefferson Regional will partner with Kindred Healthcare, a company Talbot said the hospital was very familiar with.

She said all the rooms in the new facility will be private and updated to standard size hospital rooms, and since a lot of the rehabilitation work involved a gym, Talbot said the gym facility will be “really awesome.”

Hospital officials have not announced the location for the new facility and Talbot said they hope to figure that out in the next 30 days. Talbot responded when asked if locating it off Interstate 530 was a possibility.

On another subject, Talbot said there are currently six patients in Jefferson Regional who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, five of them in Intensive Care.

A booster shot clinic for persons to receive a third dose of the vaccine is scheduled for Tuesday at First Baptist Church on Hazel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Talbot since booster shots were authorized, Jefferson Regional has administered about 600 of them.
