A Pine Bluff man arrested in connection with a double homicide Tuesday will be held without bond while prosecutors prepare murder charges against him.

During a court hearing Friday, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Kavon Bledsoe, 21, with two counts of capital murder, two counts of first-degree battery, committing a terroristic act, and tampering with physical evidence.

Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said police were sent to the Sunset Village Apartments where they found four people who had been shot. Two of them, Asharray Thomas, 18, and a 16-year-old male whose name has not been released because of his age were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other individuals received gunshot wounds and were taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital for treatment. Police later said one of them has been sent to a hospital at Little Rock.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, West said this.

Because of the seriousness of the crimes, Kearney appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Bledsoe and told him to come back to court April 13.
