Sun Belt Conference Releases 2021 Preseason Coaches’ Poll

JONESBORO, ARK. (2/15/21) – Following a season shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic, college baseball is back in full swing as the Sun Belt Conference released its 2021 Preseason All-Sun Belt Coaches’ Poll and honors.

The Red Wolves earned 13 points to place sixth, rounding out the West Division. Texas State registered 65 points and six first-place tallies to top the West poll. UT Arlington (58 points) and Louisiana (52 points) followed the Bobcats while Louisiana-Monroe (27 points) is tabbed to finish fifth in the Division.

Coastal Carolina registered a league-high total point at 69 to go along with ten first-place votes to win the East Division. South Alabama and Georgia Southern each finished with 51 points and one first-place vote apiece. Troy registered 44 points, Appalachian State notched 21 points and Georgia State rounds out the East with 16 points.

Little Rock’s Aaron Funk earned Preseason Pitcher of the Year recognition and South Alabama’s Ethan Wilson registered Preseason Player of the Year honors.
