Authorities in Stuttgart are investigating a deadly train and car collision.

The police chief confirms one person is dead.

The accident happened at the 10th Street railroad crossing.

55-year-old Joyce Yvonne Racy died on the scene as a result of the deadly train and car collision Saturday.

The 67-year-old driver, Lorenzo Racy, and a minor were hurt in the wreck.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, the car was stopped in the path of the train when it was hit.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.

Union Pacific is released this statement:

Around 6:45 p.m., a Union Pacific train collided with a car in the West 10th Strret Crossing in Stuttgart. One person died at the scene and another was taken to the hospital. The train crew was not hurt. We are working with the local police department to investigate, and information about the two vehicle occupants will need to come from them.
