A Stuttgart man was killed Thursday night when a vehicle turned in front of the man and the motorcycle the man was riding struck the rear corner of the vehicle.

Malcomb Lloyd Dillingham, 50, was thrown from the motorcycle and taken to the Dewitt Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Steven Irwin at 10:30 p.m.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Dillingham was traveling south on Arkansas Highway 1 approaching Land Leveler Road. A 2014 GMC Acadia was north bound, and the driver of that vehicle attempted to make a left turn, failing to yield to the oncoming motorcycle.

The accident was reported at 9:54 p.m. and the death was the 406th so far this year on the state’s highways.
