The race for the Republican nomination for Lincoln County Sheriff was a tight battle that was won late by former Star City Police Chief Steve Young. Young defeated Kenneth Davis for the nomination 649-616 in Tuesday’s primary.
Young spoke with Deltaplex News following his victory and said he is appreciative of the local voters.
Young said he still has a lot of work to do in preparation for the general election in November.
Young will now face Democrat Joe Paul Harrell in November’s general election.
