UPDATE 10:30 PM

Deltaplex News has received an update from Belfast Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer David King regarding the Monday night call out to the area ravaged by fire on Sunday.

The Belfast Fire Department is the lead department for the fires.

King’s statement is shared below:

We were dispatched for a possible spot fire out side the containment area spotted by one of our units checking on the fire. The small fire in question was inside the fire ring and may continue to burn and smolder for a few more days. We have crews periodically checking on the remaining fire until all is extinguished. Residents of the area may continue to see and experience smoke for the next few days until the inaccessible areas have burned out.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Grant county fire departments are actively responding to another woods fire in the 1800 block of Grant County Road 51.

This is at the same location of Sunday’s 1500 acre wildfire.

Scanner traffic indicates the fire is down a hunting club road off of Country Road 51 and crews are on side by sides determining the best way to get to the fire so they can work to extinguish the flames.
