The Arkansas State Police Commission has approved the recommendations of Colonel Bill Bryant, Director of the Arkansas State Police, to promote two sergeants to the rank of lieutenant and place them in assignments as Highway Patrol Division, assistant troop commanders.
 
The recommendations were presented today for consideration during a regular monthly of the state police commission.
 
Sergeant Scott Joe, 48, of Hot Springs, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assistant commander of Highway Patrol Division, Troop K.
Lieutenant Joe is a twenty year veteran of the department, most recently serving as a highway patrol post supervisor.
Sergeant Matthew Toon, 31, of Fort Smith, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assistant commander of Highway Patrol Division, Troop L.
Lieutenant Toon is a nine year veteran of the department, most recently serving as a highway patrol post supervisor.
Special Agent (Corporal) Mike Middleton, 54, of Marianna, was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will serve as an east Arkansas supervisor within the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, Company A.
Sergeant Middleton is a twenty-seven year veteran of the department, most recently serving as a case agent assigned to Company A.
Corporal Alan Johnson, 38, of Alexander, was promoted to the rank of sergeant assigned to Highway Patrol Division, Troop A, post supervisor.
Sergeant Johnson is a ten year veteran of the department, most recently working in a patrol assignment assigned to Troop A.
