Arkansas has joined into a lawsuit against an Arizona based company, accusing them on facilitating billions of illegal robocalls. Attorney General Tim Griffin released a statement saying “I’m joining with 48 Attorneys General to push back against the nuisance of robocalls.”
For it’s part the company, Avid Telcom says it’s just a middleman and is disappointed that the AGs didn’t communicate their concers directly before filing the lawsuit. They went on to say that “While the company always prefers to work with regulators and law enforcement to address issues of concern, as necessary, the company will defend itself vigorously against the suit”. The Arizona AG, which initiated the suit, said nearly 197 million of the illegals calls were facilitated by Avid Telcom.
