Jordan Frizzell will be entering his third year as the Superintendent at Star City this fall. He joined Rick Walker on Sunrise Deltaplex to talk about the current state of the district and Project Lead The Way. Frizzell said that enrollment is down, like all districts in South Arkansas, but they are working on ways to keep it steady.

School security has been a major topic around education since the shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Frizzell said that long before that shooting, his district has been proactive in protecting students and staff.

Like many districts in South Arkansas, staying staffed with certified teachers has been a tough job, but right now, the district will enter the fall with all positions filled.

Frizzell talked about Project Lead The Way and how Star City was recently given the Distinguished District status, one of only 13 in the country.

He also discussed programs that are in place in Star City to prepare students to enter the workforce.

Walker asked the Superintendent about current construction and improvement underway.
