A spokeswoman for Jefferson Regional Hospital on Monday confirmed that the hospital has transferred some patients who sought help at the Emergency Room to other facilities because of the lack of water pressure at the hospital.

Wendy Talbot spoke to Deltaplex News and said the hospital never stopped patients in the ER and those that could be treated and able to go home did so. If more care was needed, Talbot said the patients were stabilized and transferred.

Talbot was also asked how the low water pressure affected the hospital’s operations.

She said hospital officials have been in contact with Liberty Utilities, including a call she made last Friday to get more information on the situation.
