Sources Say UAPB Will Name Alonzo Hampton Next Head Football Coach

Multiple sources report the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will name Alonzo Hampton as their next head football coach.

Hampton formally coached for the Golden Lions under Monte Coleman 2006-2010. In five seasons (2006-10) at Arkansas Pine Bluff where he served in a variety of roles, including cornerbacks coach, defensive backs coach and eventually defensive coordinator in 2009-10. In 2008, the Golden Lions ranked among the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision leaders in pass efficiency defense (eighth with 99.6 rating), pass defense (17th at 160.9 ypg.) and interceptions (29th with 15).

The Warren, Arkansas native also had stints at Florida State, Oregon, USF, and Western Kentucky.
