Smith Barber Institution Holds Inaugural Commencement Ceremony
The Smith Barber Institution held its first ever graduation ceremony on Sunday, January 23, at Breath of Life Church in Pine Bluff. Deltaplex Radio’s on air personality LaRon Marbley from 99.3fm The Beat was the Master of Ceremony for the event that honored nine graduates.
Owners James Jr. and Lasonja Smith included the last two classes in the ceremony, as last years’ graduation was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. Family and friends looked on from the audience as the guest speaker Mr. Darnell Price spoked to the crowd. Mr. Price was also presented with the Smith Barbers Institute Barber Humanitarian Award for his accomplishments in the field.
