Mayor Shirley Washington celebrate’s her re-election bid with supporters in downtown Pine Bluff.

Mayor Shirley Washington has won a second term in office after a landslide victory over Council Member’s Ivan Whitfield and Steven Mays.

Washington received 5,895 votes compared to Whitfield’s 1,179 votes and Mays’ 711 votes. Washington received 75.72 % of the votes, while Whitfield received 15.14%, and Mays’ received 9.13%.

In other Pine Bluff races Glen Brown, Sr. unseated incumbent Donald Hatchet for the Ward Three City Council position, Janice L. Clark won the election for Pine Bluff City Clerk, Greg Gustek won his re-election bid for Pine Bluff City Treasurer, Lloyd A. Holcomb won his re-election bid for Ward One City Council, and in the Ward Two City Council race Lloyd Franklin and Steven Shaner will compete in a runoff on March 31.

There will also be a runoff in the District 11 Circuit Judge race between Mac Norton and Therese Free, in addition to a runoff in the District Three Justice of the Peace position between Brenda Bishop-Gaddy and Jeff Edwards.

In other races Senator Stephanie Flowers won her bid as District 25 State Senator, and Keidra Burrell won the District 25 State Senator race, and will now face off against Senator Trent Garner.

Additionally, Judge John Kearney won his re-election bid for District 29, Division Two District Court Judge.
