THE SECOND ANNUAL NATIONAL GUN VIOLENCE AWARENESS DAY IS SLATED FOR JUNE SEVENTH AT THE PINE BLUFF CONVENTION CENTER. THAT IS THE DAY THAT MANY

COMMUNITY MINDED—ORGANIZATIIONS WILL COLLABORATE TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG PEOPLE TO TURN AWAY FROM GUN

VIOLENCE.  HERE IN PINE BLUFF, THE GROUP VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM OR G-V-I —-IS LEADING THE EFFORT TO HELP STAMP OUT GUN VIOLENCE AMONGST

THE CITY’S YOUTH.

SHERIFF LAFAYETTE WOODS JUNIOR SAYS  THE G-V-I PROGRAM BENEFITS THE PINE BLUFF COMMUNITY.

THE JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, G-V-I AND THE 6TH DIVISION OF THE JEFFERSON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT  ARE ALL

INVOLVED IN THE JUNE SEVENTH PROGRAM. THERE WILL BE RALLIES, GUEST SPEAKERS, FREE FOOD AND FUN AND GAMES.

WOODS SAYS THE PROGRAM IS  FREE  AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
