The City of Sheridan is still experiencing power outages in some portions of the city after other areas were able to have power restored on Thursday, and crews are working hard to clear downed trees and power lines in order to restore service to the remainder of the city.

Mayor Cain Nattin spoke with Deltaplex News Friday morning to give an update on where things currently stand, saying Entergy Arkansas has informed him there are still around 1300 residents in Sheridan without power.

TrueHope Church in Sheridan opened their doors Thursday night as a warming center for local residents, in addition to hosting a taco bar for anyone that needed a hot meal. Nattin said he hasn’t heard if any churches will open tonight if needed, but he is grateful for TrueHope Church for doing so Thursday night.

Nattin said that he hasn’t heard of any injuries from trees and limbs falling, car accidents, or any other kind of injuries since the ice storm came through early Thursday morning.
