A Sheridan man was killed Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Benton.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Jeffrey Freeman, 41, was traveling east on Military Road near Sonic with no headlight on his Tattao Powermax scooter. A GMC Sierra was westbound entering the center lane to turn left into Sonic. As that vehicle was making the turn across the eastbound lanes, the scooter struck the front passenger side near the front bumper of the GMC.
The preliminary report does not indicate any injuries to occupants of the GMC.
The accident was reported at 8:06 p.m. and the weather was clear, and the roadway dry at the time.
The death was the 395th reported so far this year on the state’s highways.
