At its last meeting the Sheridan City Council voted to hire another police officer for the Sheridan Police Department.
According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, Police Chief Jason Teague asked for the additional officer and Mayor Joe Wise told the newspaper that there are certain times in the early morning hours when there were not enough officers on the street.
Wise said there had not been ay serious issues from this lack of manpower but the council agreed that another officer was needed.
Also at the meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Joel Stanton reported that renovations to the concession stand and other improvements ot the ball park wee being wrapped up.
The project included renovating the current building and the restrooms will be remodeled and enlarged. A dressing room and shower for umpires will also be included.
