Water and sewer rates for Sheridan residents are going up next year, after a vote by the Sheridan City Council at its most recent meeting.
The third and final vote on the new rates will take place at the council’s Jan. 7, 2025 meeting at 6 p.m.
According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, the fixed base charge for water will be $13.20, an increase of $2.20 for 0 to 1,000 gallons. For customers using more than 1,000 gallons but less than 9,999 gallons, the rate will be $13.20 plus $5.22 per 1,000 gallons, an increase of 87 cents per gallon.
Customers using more than 10,000 gallons will be charged $13.20 plus $5.44 per 1,000 gallons.
Sewer rates are also increasing, the newspaper reported. The new rate will be $8.78 for 1 to 1,000 gallons of water, and those using more than 1,000 gallons will be charged an $8.78 base plus $2.75 per 1,000 gallons.
