At its most recent meeting, the Sheridan City Council adopted legislation affirming that the city will adhere to laws prohibiting discriminatory practices in housing and property ownership based on race, color, creed or national origin.

The Fair Housing Resolution was presented by City Attorney Ed Koon.

The Sheridan Headlight newspaper reported that also at the meeting, Police Chief Jason Teague reported that the department had bought two new police vehicles from Smart Ford at a total cost of $88,000. That price was $8,000 below the state contract price.

Also, the Water and Sewer Commission approved a project to  repaint the Highway 35 water  tank.

The council was told that new ballpark lights will be installed soon, weather permitting and the high school baseball and softball seasons will be starting soon.
