SeArk College President Dr. Steve Bloomberg has informed Deltaplex News that there are three finalists for the Dean of Students/Athletic Director position that the college is looking to fill.

The college announced in January that they intend to introduce college athletics in the 2023 fall semester; joining as a NJCAA Division Two program.

The three finalists are former National Park College Dean of Enrollment/Athletic Director Jason Hudnell, Alabama A&M Interim Athletic Director Ka’Lisa Stanfield, and Dyersberg State Community College Athletic Director and Men’s Basketball Coach Chad Kline.

Each of the three finalists are scheduled for on campus visits next week, which will include community forums on the campus of SeArk College.

Bios of the three finalists are as follows:

Candidate:          Mr. Jason Hudnell

Mr. Hudnell served as the Dean of Enrollment/Athletic Director at National Park College (NPC) from 2016 through 2022. During his tenure, he was responsible for the implementation of athletics at NPC. Over a four-year period, he led the efforts to build an athletic department with 175 student-athletes participating across eight intercollegiate sports. He served as NJCAA Region Two sports chair for soccer and softball. He also coached the men’s basketball team at NPC from 2017 – 2020, with a win/loss record of 45-24.

Mr. Hudnell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Ouachita Baptist University and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Arkansas Technical University.

Candidate:          Ms. Ka’Lisa Stanfield

Ms. Stanfield served most recently as the interim Athletic Director at Alabama A&M University. She led the University’s efforts to establish rules for the implementation of a Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) program under NCAA guidelines. Prior to serving as the interim Athletic Director, Ms. Stanfield also served as the Associate Athletic Director for Academics, also at Alabama A&M University. Ka’Lisa held the position of Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance for the University of Arkansas, Monticello from 2018 through 2021. She was responsible for UAM’s compliance with NCAA rules, as well as Title IX. She also served as an Academic Counselor and Special Events coordinator at the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff from 2017-2018.

Ms. Stanfield holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from the University of Arkansas, Monticello, and a Master of Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University.

Candidate:          Mr. Chad Kline

 Mr. Kline most recently served as the Athletic Director and Men’s Basketball Coach for Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg, TN., from 2020 – 2022. As the Athletic Director, he supervised the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Department and athletic programs, including women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s softball, and men’s baseball. As the Head Basketball Coach, he compiled a record of 46-13 and led Dyersburg State to a Tennessee Community College Athletic Association Championship in 2021. Prior to Dyersburg, Chad served as the Men’s Basketball Coach at Arkansas Tech University from 2014 through 2020 where he had the fourth most wins in school history with an overall record of 96 – 79. His experience also includes serving as the Men’s Basketball Coach at Frank Phillips College in Borger, TX from 2005 – 2010 where he earned an overall record of 90 – 60 and won the Western Junior College Athletic Association Championship in 2007.

Mr. Kline holds an Associate of Arts from Barton County Community College in Great Bend, KS., a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS., and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Arkansas Tech University.
