Whitnee Boyd joined Deltaplex news to discuss The Gift of Enlightenment Scholarship that she coordinates, which is in honor of the late Ms. Carla Thomas Allen. Boyd explained the scholarship and why it was created in Allen’s honor,
Boyd described Allen as a longtime educator who worked well with children. Allen was also a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Sherill, AR where her Father Clark Thomas is pastor.
The team that is working with the scholarship fund welcomed contributions from the community to go towards the three scholarships that they will be offering. Boyd further explained this, the requirements, and who is eligible,
