The Pine Bluff Police Department has arrested two suspects in a homicide that happened Saturday night that left a man dead.  Officers responded to a call and made their way to 2407 W. Roane Avenue around 7:10 pm Saturday evening in response to a disturbance and gunshots. As officers approached the scene, they heard more gunshots and upon arrival found 30-year-old Odell Lankford lying in the street.

Lankford was still breathing and had at least one apparent gunshot wound. EASI Ambulance Service and first responders arrived and tried to treat Lankford, but he was already dead by time they arrived.

Witness say that Lankford and Rouse were fighting in the street in front of 2407 W. Roane Ave., then say during the fight, Rouse got a handgun and shot Lankford. The shooter, 34-year-old Jason Rouse, was still at the scene upon the police’s arrival. He was taken into custody without incident. Witness also told police that Rouse’s girlfriend, Nakeisha Dalton age 33, came to the scene with Rouse and had also fired shots toward Lankford before the fight started. Dalton, who is also Lankford’s sister, was taken into custody. Rouse was booked for one count of first-degree murder and Dalton was booked on one count of aggravated assault on a family or household member. Authorities have not released any other information on the incident at this time.
