A massive hiring event earlier for the Saracen Casino was held earlier this week and according to Carlton Saffa, the event was successful. Appearing on the Oldies 101.3 morning show with Greg Horne and Will Jenkins Friday, Saffa said:
He said as the casino itself is close to being ready, there are fewer contractors and more casino employees in the building now, including technicians for the heating, cooling and generating power, what he described as the “lungs, heart and brain of the building.”
When asked how close the building was to a soft opening, Saffa said:
Early on, developers decided to concentrate on getting the casino part of the complex ready first, to generate revenue, then concentrate on the hotel and casino. Saffa said that has proved to be a smart decision.
Before wrapping up the interview, Saffa also mentioned the impact that the tax revenue from the casino annex and soon the main casino itself has had and will have on Pine Bluff and Jefferson County.
