The Arkansas Activities Association announced Wednesday that the Pine Bluff Convention Center will be the site of the Class 5-A state basketball tournament this year.

On the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday, host Greg Horne said that the success of the recent King Cotton Holiday basketball tournament played a major role in that decision and spoke with Ryan Watley, CEO of Go Forward Pine Bluff who was instrumental in bringing the King Cotton tournament back.

Wately said one of the factors that played into the decision was the attendance at the King Cotton championship game which featured the Pine Bluff Zebras.

He went on to say that this tournament will give Pine Bluff an opportunity to change the perspective some in the state have about Pine Bluff.
