The Rison School District has announced that the new School Health Center operated by Mainline Health will be opening soon.
According to the Cleveland County Herald, the elementary and high schools are currently accepting consent forms from parents who want the clinic to treat their children.
The newspaper reported that there is no direct cost to the district to have the clinic other than provide the space, electricity, cleaning and furnishings which include chairs and a desk. Mainline will provide the staff, equipment and supplies.
Mainline currently operates school clinics in the Dermott, Hamburg, Lake Village, Sheridan, Star City and Warren School District.
The Rison School Clinic will be run by Physicians Assistant Lauren Dougherty.
