A Rison man was arrested Wednesday after he admitted entering a storage shed and taking several items.
Brandon Jones, 27, was taken into custody after Tri-County Drug Task Force investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Jones was driving.
During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West read from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Sandra Harper who reported that on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office was informed that a storages shed on South Hazel had been broken into and power tools, a rifle and a side by side had been taken.
When Jones was questioned, he allegedly admitted entering the storage shed and said he sold the rifle for cash and the methamphetamine, left the side by side in a wooded area and also sold two of the power tools.
West said Jones is on parole in another county.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 bond for Jones after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with theft of property and possession of a controlled substance. He was told to come back to court Sept. 21.
