Little Rock police are investigating after a cash register from a local restaurant was found empty outside an apartment complex.

Authorities were called to an apartment complex at 6815 Forbing Road on Monday and were told a cash register was found on the property. A woman told police she found the register outside of apartment 27 around 7:30 a.m.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found receipts from Las Palmas, located on Stagecoach Road, but no cash was found inside the drawers.

Officers went to the restaurant, discovered one of the patio doors was vandalized and there was a large stone between two patio doors of the restaurant.

Police spoke with Edgar Atilano, who said the location does have surveillance video and a working alarm system, but the alarm did not make a sound during the incident.

Detectives and other officials examined the register, fingerprinted the machine and released it to Atilano. No suspect information was available from the report.

Anyone with information in the case is encouraged to contact the Little Rock Police Department.
