Current member of the Arkansas House of Representatives and former Jefferson County Judge Mike Holcomb was one of the members of the legislature from Jefferson County who got involved in sponsoring legislation that will allow Jefferson County employees to get paid.

On Monday, Governor Sara Huckabee Sanders signed legislation providing that if a city or county has not adopted a new budget by January, they revert to the budget for the previous year. Five attempts were made to pass a budget for Jefferson County but all five failed because of disagreements between County Judge Gerald Robinson and members of the Quorum Court.

Holcomb was one of the sponsors of that legislation and appearing on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show, he was asked at what point did local legislators decide to get involved.

Morning Show host Greg Horne said 50 years and 75 counties,  there we go.

Holcomb went on to say this.

Horne said he had been told that the reason the payroll documents were not signed was that they were presented with 2025 salary numbers. He said Robinson has indicated he was going to go ahead and sign the documents and let the courts handle it and he asked Holcomb his thoughts on the matter.
