Wednesday is United Way Day on Oldies 1013 and Leslie Dorn of the United Way was joined by Brenda Brown and Laurel Bland of the Area Agency on Aging who talked about their work advocating for the elderly.
Brown said this about the work.
Brown said they advocate for anyone who is in a long-term care facility, assisted living facility, or adult day care, and Morning Show Host Greg Horne asked her how they monitor those facilities.
Horne said they had described visits to the facilities as “friendly” but in a sense, they are actually overseeing them and trying to hold them accountable and Bland responded this way.
