Lori Arnold is the Executive Director of the Greater Arkansas American Red Cross and a trained disaster responder.
On Wednesday, Leslie Dorn, the Executive Director of the United Way for Southeast Arkansas was a guest on the Oldies 1013 and arranged or Arnold to call in.
Dorn said Arnold had just returned from Florida after responding to the hurricane there and Jennifer Lipp, who was sitting in for Greg Horne, asked Arnold to describe what she had seen.
Arnold then talked about the destruction of homes there, describing what she saw as “a garbage heap of lumber and siding”. Lipp then asked Arnold to talk about the people who were displaced.
She said the couple was in their 70’s and had no idea how they were going to rebuild their lives.
Arnold was then asked the best way to help and said this.
