Quranner ‘Q’ Cotledge has announced his candidacy for the 3rd Ward of the Pine Bluff City Council:

Citizens of the 3rd Ward,

I am Quranner ‘Q’ Cotledge, a 38-year citizen of the 3rd Ward. I have long participated in civic activities that uplift the community and quality of life for my neighbors. Working alongside other volunteers, I have also brought about positive change for the City of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

My family and I feel the time has come to seek elected office. A strong business sense, fresh collaborative ideas, and positive solutions are the intangibles that I would like to bring to the Pine Bluff City Council by running for the 3rd Ward seat.

My 43 years of experience in state government with the Department of Human Service as the County Director of the Jefferson County Human Service office, Program Manager of the State of Arkansas’ Food Stamp (SNAP) Program, Area Manager for 14 Human Services offices, Assistant Director for the Division of Children and Family Services and as the Administrator Jefferson County Health Unit have allowed me opportunities to work collaboratively with other areas of government and the business community.

More importantly, I have had a chance to engage citizens at all levels as both an advocate and problem solver. Despite what is sometimes portrayed, there are workable solutions to our city’s documented problems. For example, the 3rd Ward has great people who want representation that reflects working together is better. If the 3rd Ward is better, the City of Pine Bluff is better and vice versa.

I want to be your voice and remain flexible in my approach to use wisdom, problem-solving best practices, and most importantly, be a great listener for ideas that have long-term benefits for our Ward and our City. If you elect me, you will always be proud of my professionalism and my open-mind leadership style.

To be successful, I am organizing a strong grassroots effort. I have begun speaking with residents to develop a diverse perspective of their hopes for our Ward. With brochures, flyers, yard signs, multimedia advertising, and neighborhood canvassing, we will let it be known that they have a choice to make about their future come May 24, 2022.

God Bless the
3rd Ward, and God Bless the City of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
