The Jefferson County Quorum Court Committees met on Tuesday, January 4th via zoom to discuss five ordinances on their agenda. Among those ordinances included prohibiting unreasonably loud noises and disturbances of the peace in Jefferson County which would result in a fine. Justice Conley Byrd proposed the ordinance which was approved without contest to be moved on to the full quorum court.

Justice Ted Harden asked a question about the ordinance in reference to the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve and this is how Byrd responded.

Also approved to the full court, was an appropriation ordinance to transfer and appropriate funds from the American Rescue Plan Fund to provide an American Rescue Plan Vaccines incentive in the amount of $50,000. The other ordinances also involved moving funds leftover from 2021 for various projects and grants that will be presented in the full quorun court meeting to be implemented for 2022.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson announced to the committees that the full quorum court and other future meetings will be held via zoom. The full Quorum Court will be meeting on January 11th at 5:30 pm.
