The Poyen City Council has sent a bill to the Poyen Park Board after Mayor Scott Riggan mowed the grounds of the park.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, a part of the agreement between the city and the park board is that the board would keep up the park, including lawn maintenance.

Council members said the park board has been good about keeping up the park during baseball season but once the season is over, the park tended to be neglected.

A price of $500 for the mowing was approved unanimously by the council and the newspaper quoted Riggan as saying “that if it came to the point that he had to mow the park again, they can find a new place to play baseball.”
