The Arkansas Health Department is now confirming 41 positive COVID-19 cases in Arkansas nursing homes, to include a positive case found Wednesday at The Waters of White Hall nursing home.

Arkansas Secretary of Health Dr. Nate Smith says the recent positive case is connected to a patient with the virus that was treated at Jefferson Regional hospital.

The White Hall nursing home has reported only one positive test, but department of health officials say they are working with the facility and the Health Care Association to test other residents and staff members that have been around the patient.

The Waters of White Hall said they are aggressively and proactively fighting to prevent any more cases in their facility.

“The safety and well-being of our residents and staff is our top priority and we are taking a very proactive and aggressive approach in preventing and defending the virus through intense monitoring, screening, education and awareness, and appropriate prevention and management. We are in close communication with local and state health officials to ensure we are taking every appropriate step presently. We have and will continue to follow the guidance provided by CDC, CMS, and state/local health departments. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes at this crucial time.”
