Portions of the Deltaplex are under an ice storm warning as freezing temperatures and moisture approach the area early this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, accumulating ice is possible across much of the state, but the highest totals (a quarter inch or more) will likely be in the central third of the state. An ice storm warning is in effect for those areas with surrounding areas in a winter weather advisory.

Counties in the ice storm warning include Saline, Pulaski, Lonoke, Prairie, Monroe, Hot Spring, Grant, Jefferson, and Arkansas.

Cities included are Benton, Bryant, Little Rock,
North Little Rock, Cabot, Lonoke, Des Arc, Hazen, De Valls Bluff, Brinkley, Clarendon, Malvern, Sheridan, Pine Bluff, Stuttgart, and DeWitt.

A couple of rounds of freezing rain and sleet are
expected tonight through Tuesday night. Significant ice accruals over a quarter inch are possible. Sleet accumulations should be less than a tenth of an inch.
