A multi-agency operation targeting street racing Sunday resulted in more than 90 law enforcement actions, police said in a press release Thursday.

Sgt. Richard Wegner said Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Arkansas State Troopers assisted Pine Bluff Police officers in conducting the zero-tolerance operation including racing, speeding, spinning tires, and other violations.

According to the press release, officers and deputies made three felony arrests, four drug arrests, seized 11 firearms, made three warrant arrests, impounded 11 vehicles and two ATVs, and wrote 66 traffic citations.

Wegner said this was not a single operation but a continuing one and police will continue to monitor when the illegal activity occurs and make adjustments accordingly.

“We will continue to issue citations, make arrests and impound vehicles whenever allowed by law until this situation stops,” Wegner said. “The Pine Bluff Police Department and our partnering agencies are committed to working for the safety and security of our citizens. This commitment includes the quality of life for our citizens as well.”
