The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a homicide investigation.
According to a press release, officers were sent to 2120 S, Maple St., at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday and found a male later identified as Brandon Dement with apparent gunshot wounds in front of the residence.
Dement was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 10 p.m.
Police said the identity of the shooter or shooters and the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
This was the 8th homicide in Pine Bluff so far this year.
