The number of homicides reported in Pine Bluff in 2022 was lower than the number registered for the previous year. On Thursday, Police Chief Denise Richardson was asked if that lower trend was also being seen in other types of crimes.

Richardson was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

Last year, Richardson said police made arrests in a majority of the homicides that were reported and she was asked if that was also the case in other crimes.

Richardson said in the past, there were generally about eight detectives working per shift but because of manpower shortages, that number had been cut to about four.
