Plans Are Available for Review Regarding the City of Pine Bluff Watershed Project Pine Bluff, AR – The City of Pine Bluff announces that a Draft Watershed Plan-Environmental Assessment (Draft Plan-EA) has been prepared for review and public comment.
This plan is a critical step in addressing flood damage reduction for the city and surrounding areas that drain into Bayou Bartholomew and the Caney Creek-Caney Bayou Watershed.
Prepared under the authority of the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law 83-566) and in accordance with Section 102(2)(C) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (Public Law 91 190), the Draft Plan-EA aims to provide flood damage reduction through the year 2076.
This project represents a long-term commitment to the safety and sustainability of Pine Bluff, enhancing the community’s resilience against flood risks.
The draft Watershed Plan-EA is available at the Pine Bluff Jefferson County Main Library located at 600 S. Main St., Pine Bluff, AR 71601 and at the Pine Bluff City Hall- Mayor’s Office located 200 E. 8th Avenue Pine Bluff, AR 71601.
The City encourages residents, stakeholders, and community organizations to review the draft plan and provide public comment by attending an in-person public meeting on October 1, 2024 between 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kevin Collins Center, 200 East 8th Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The public comment period will remain open until October 8, 2024.
