Pine Bluff School District Superintendent Jennifer Barbaree on Thursday talked about test scores from reading and math that were recently released by the State Department of Education.
The scores were based on testing that was done state-wide last year and Barbaree admitted that the district still has some work to do, but was encouraged by what she saw.
She appeared on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show and host Greg Horne told her that in his opinion, reading is the most important subject that can be taught, followed by math, “then all that other stuff can come behind.
“What’s your opinion,” he asked. “What do you think as a superintendent actually in the weeds out there?”
He also asked Barbaree if the Pine Bluff School District is the toughest district in the state to be a superintendent in, saying that if he were in a district like in Fayetteville, he wouldn’t hear that.
